Alfred A Hart 106 - New Hampshire Falls. The Dutch Flat road passed this scene above Big Bend on its way up to Donner Summit. The railroad was being built on the side of the mountains 300 feet higher. Today Old Highway 40 follows the same route. Where did the name come from? Who knows?
